Ubud is known as the Heart of Bali, and features a treasure trove of cultural landmarks – from water temples to royal palaces. Ubud is in mainland Bali, and sits just before the terrain rises into the volcanic mountains further north. This is a place characterised by picturesque rice paddies, health cafés and cultural arts and crafts. Ubud is the home of the iconic monkey forest, whilst Yoga retreats are all the rage here.
